Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Fancy finding this in southern Indiana. Thanks, Sahara! Bottle. Very sweet and malty aroma with complimentary yeast. Lightly spiced with some citrus rind and caramel. Caramel-colored (translucent) with a large, rocky, pillowy, lacing, rich eggshell head that lasts for ages. Yeasty taste with medium-strong carbonation and oily malt. Only slightly sweet, and not really bitter, but a touch of sourness. Faint dark fruit with stronger lemon, orange, and coriander notes. Possible ginger, possible metal. Otherwise thinnish body and a dry, malty, biscuity, slightly spicy aftertaste. No real blend here. Decent, slightly dull session.

Great label. Hazy bright amber with a thin sudsy head. Aroma of butterscotch and caramel. Malty and tart with some apple flavor. Body is both wheaty and fizzy. Very average. I gave an extra overall point for the cool 16th century beer-themed painting by Pieter Bruegel the Elder on the bottle.

Has sweet caramel overtones and a crisp finish. Substantial mouthfeel for a lower alcohol ale. Not earth shattering, but nice.

HUGE sudsy head lasts forever! Aroma of sour apples, sweet yeast. Tastes fizzy, carbonated, and dry. Not the greatest belgian ale I've tried, but still quite nice.

Almost a soft drink of a beer, it drinks so fast and light. Cloudy brownish color, with a huge meringue head. Bottle opened with a dramatic pop and foamed heavily on the pour, it was difficult to actually fill a glass. Head never did fully dissipate. Aroma started slightly phenolic, with a touch of brown sugar in the background. Flavor was more fruity, with a vague tropical note along with the brown sugar. Finish was pretty dry - the beer from the beginning was never sweet. Light body, heavy carbonation and fizzy on the palate. Very quaffable owing to the light palate and low alcohol.

Murky orange in colour. Malty, light caramel aroma. Flavour is slightly sweet and hoppy. Finishes slightly bitter and light. Really simple.
