It has a mild aroma of malt and Belgian yeast. The first thing that struck me as I started drinking this one is that it’s simply too thin. The flavor has a good balance of malt sweetness and bittering hops that finishes a little dry. Not bad, but there are numerous better Belgian ales around. SHIG (2043), Aviano, Italy

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 8, 2004 Updated: Feb 17, 2009I have had this beer a couple of times with mixed results. This rating was for one of the better bottles. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer pours a hazy reddish amber color with a large tan head that lingers. There is a mild sweet and sour scent. The beer is heavily carbonated - which is something I do not really care for. The aroma was sweetish with notes of apple and pear. The flavor is mildly sweet and had notes of pear and apple with a peppery and yeasty undertone. The finish was medium length and the body slightly to the thick side of medium. This is a decent beer. The comment that came up at the table was that this was a beer you could easily drink all night, but that would not inspire you to really seek it out. bitbucket (2036), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2006 Bottled. Pours a clear amber with a lacy cream-colored head. The body is medium with medium carbonation. Corriander, toffee and fruit in the nose. The taste is caramel and fruit with a bit of corriander and cloves in the in the ever-so-slightly bitter finish. No out standing characteristics, but no problems either. This would be a hugely sessionable beer. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia
