| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 26, 2004 Clouded orangey amber hue, strong carbonation, good foam. Sweet malty, spicy aroma with vinegary cheesey notes. Overly carbonated on the palate and pretty thin. Starts out sweet with some fruitiness, finishes sour with a slight bite. Less carbonation and more body would make this decent. AmEricanbrew (1860), Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 10, 2008 Clear amber with little head. Musty, earthy nose with pale cracker malts. Smooth frothy mouthfeel. Nice taste is lightly sweet caramel with a mildly drying cracker malt flavor to finish. Easy drinking and a good session brew. 378 mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Pours a crystal clear sunshine gold, with a medium pearly white head. Looks to be filtered to all hell. Smells of some crisp grain, mild candy sugar and cereal malts. The taste was really grainy tasting and a bit bitter. The flavor wasnt very crisp or sharp. Had a little sweetness to it in the finish, but that didnt really add much more enjoyment to it at all for me. Quite disappointing. Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 3, 2004 Murky desert sand.
Ripe fruits especially lemons in the nose.
Fairly straight forward flavor, very mild, not offensive, just not that good. Overcarbonated. Unnessassary acidity hurts this.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2007 33 cl bottle. Part of a sampler six of vSteen. beers from <a href=http://ratebeer.com/Place/illinois/oak-forest in Oak Forest, meaning it may have set awhile without air conditioning. I’d think to start with the lightest abv beer, which would have suffered most. So, this one frothed over when opened, even after being in my fridge for two months. Healthy looking foam in the glass, but it shriveled away quickly. Managed to preserve a nice Belgian malt smell with a little sourness. Color is reddish-amber with gold outlines, a watercolor of a beer in my tulip glass. Millions of unfiltered particles well-distributed. Taste shows a little of that sourness that may be from getting warm, but not a bad off flavor. A bit of strawberry nectar, too. Golden pils or vienna level malt, offset by a little bitterness. Prickly carbonation. I’d have thought it bottle conditioned, but no yeast at the bottom. Kind of a less sour version of some old Jenlain Six I once had. Not bad. I’d hope to someday find an assuredly fresher one. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 2, 2003 Pours a hazy brown with large amounts of white head. High levels of carbonation throughout the beer. Musty nose of caramel and fruit. Slightly bitter flavors of fruit and sweet malt. Mouthfeel is a bit light and very bubbly. Nothing to get overly excited about, but nice. LinusStick (1846), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 24, 2007 Decent Belgian. Pour was a light to medium brown with no head. Aroma was honey and malt. Taste was sweet like a mix of honey, malt and yeast with not as much carbonation as most Belgians. Nice thegreenrooster (1839), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 11, 2006 Pour is a clear yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is a sour bready with a hint of skunk. Flavor is sweet and hoppy but not much else. Slightly bland and boring. This is the boring beer of Belgium.
