Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

This beer pours the color of motor oil and is slightly darker than honey. Nice looking beer but with very little head. Lacing tends to slowly move down the glass. The aroma is on the thin side but hints of raisens and yeast are evident. Not at all unpleasant. On the mouth it is thin and grabs the tongue very far back. The beer has an interesting combination of bitter and sour but it manages to balance the two. It finishes with more tartness.

Amber with a good sized head. Aroma is of wet grass an hay with some malts and hops. Flavor is malty with light hops and overall is slightly weak.

Cloudy amber color, fine head. Yeasy nose. Relatively dry, tinny, faintly bitter. Big spritz. Very weak tastes.

Amber color, cloudy, full and firm tan head. Mildly spicy, some yeast, banana, and some pear. Medium bodied. Not very distinctive in any way but OK.

I got this in one of those mixed sixes of random Belgian beers. Definitely at the bottom compared to the others in the 6-pack of Belgians I got.

Source: 11.2 oz bottle purchased from Greenlife Grocery in Chattangooa.
Appearance: Poured a clear, light gold color (almost yellow) with a finger and a half of bubbly white head that quickly dissipated..
Aroma: Very earthy, musty with faint notes of caramel.
Flavor: Toffee, earthy hops and a metallic twinge that dominated the finish. Very disappointing.
Palate: Medium body and watery mouthfeel. The metallic bitterness hangs around for a while, and really ruins the rest of the beer.
Overall: Very disappointing. Will not buy this one again.
