Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

Dark amber color with a medium size off white head. Yeasty aroma. Flavor of malt at first, then gives way to a spicy, yeasty, somewhat tart finish. Metallic aftertaste. Not sure if this was a bad bottle or not, I hope so.

Bottled. Beer is hazy, medium oxidized caramel brown with a large, off-white, frothy, mostly and rapidly diminishing head. Chunky lacing.
Smells horribly flawed. Malty with a light note of caramel; Hoppy with a trace of lemon zest; Otherwise it’s a pure diacetyl bomb. I can smell it from the table before I even touch the glass it’s so bad.
Moderately sweet, lightly acidic/juicy sour with a short, trace acidic and sweet very dirty finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

OOps i poured this little to fast and now theres a huge fluffy head that aint going away. Amber hue, and a soft but delicious aroma. Flavor was a jolt to the taste buds of tart unripe fruits and mild bitterness. Sense some gold or green apple peelings, along with pear and grape. All of which are fresh and unripe so it has that sour taste there. Still a enjoyable ale no matter the country it sets a strong standard.

From the bottle.

Pours amber with a fluffy white head. Belgian yeast, some wit-like spice, lemon, citrus peel on the nose; the flavor is relatively dry, relatively tart, lemon juice with water, reasonably refreshing. The carbonation is active if not aggressive in the prickly sense; some metallic bitterness lingers on the finish.

Tolerable enough beer, but somehow it’s just not coming together for me as something worth revisiting. It’s watered-down and so straightforward as to be almost unnoticable.

Lots of toffee and some buttery popcorn in the aroma. Dark copper body with a light to medium palate. Light toffee flavors, watery, with some burnt popcorn in the aftertaste. Not good.

Poured a clear effervescent amber with a small fizzy white head. Sweet aroma of butterscotch and bubble gum. Taste is butterscotch, toffee, some mild acidity and some light dry grassy hops. Bland finish. OK I suppose, but a blah session beer.

330 ml bottle. 2nd time tasting this, last time was badly infected and undrinkable. Golden orange colour with a huge fizzy and frothy tan head. Tangy and sour citrus and apple aroma. Tangy, sour, cherry, and citrus flavours with an acidic and lightly bitter finish. Light to medium bodied and dry mouthfeel. Better than last time, but nothing special.

Pours a copper-amber color with a foamy white head. Nice roasty hoppy aroma. Sweet floral flavor with a medium body. Yummy!
