Sweet aroma of butterscotch and bubble gum. Taste is butterscotch, toffee, some mild acidity and some light dry grassy hops. Bland finish. OK I suppose, but a blah session beer. Golden orange colour with a huge fizzy and frothy tan head. Tangy and sour citrus and apple aroma. Tangy, sour, cherry, and citrus flavours with an acidic and lightly bitter finish. Light to medium bodied and dry mouthfeel. Better than last time, but nothing special. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA

This was the most unique and interesting beer in the sampler pack. I really love Piraat, but I’ve had that one before… it’s best after a few months in the cellar though.
Pours a copper / amber body and a medium tan head. The aroma and flavor are in total conjunction! Vast notes of grains; cracked wheat and oats, also, large suggestions of walnuts and Brazilian nuts. This really smells and taste like HoneyNut Cheerios. Sweet beginning and a tart yeasty finish…. I can’t recall ever sampling a beer with character like this! Gregis (1134), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2008 Bottle purchased at John’s Grocery in Iowa City, IA. Pours a hazy copper with a creamy ecru head that diminishes to a skin at the surface and laces nicely. The nose is of toasted barley with a touch of floral hops in support. Medium-bodied and creamy with a lightly bitter and mildly dry finish. The flavor is of toasty, sweet and lightly sour malt with a mild supporting note of floral hops. This is a pretty solid brew. I’m surprised to see it with such a low average rating.
