Commercial Description:
Bruegel is an easy drinking soft and tasty amber ale. Thanks to the refermentation it offers more body, more head and more taste than most other American and Belgian Amber ales. It is brewed with Dutch barley and German hops. Although the bitterness is clearly present, it is not dominant.

330ml bottle served in a Chimay chalice. Aroma is mild to moderate brett (barnyard), citrus, and light honey/caramel. I think it smells great, akin to Orval. Gold colored with a wispy head and light, but persistent carbonation. A small amount of yeast stays with the bottle. Tatse is tasty brett (barnyard/horseblanket), citrus (lemon), mildly earthy, minerally taste along with some nice, firm malt backing. Finishes dry, somewhat thin, but not too bad at all. My rating appears to be much higher than most, maybe I got an infected bottle? If so, thanks!

I seem to get brett character out of several Van Steenberge beers.

Cloudy muddy brown color with a tiny ring of bubbles around the edge of the glass. Minimal aroma of dates and some dough. Flavor is very understated and almost water-like, just a bit of tart fruit then an empty palate. Slightly astringent. Medium bodied with decent carbonation. An odd little beer to say the least.

it is light - but not too light. it has a real refreshing and spicy character about it. it is bitter and fruity, almost lemony. it is also a bit chalky. nice light pure white head on a light golden brew. it has a kind of vegetable touch that fades to the fruit and grains, i find that appealing. this is a good country brew. i was mildy surprised.

Golden amber body, huge tan head. Aroma is very interesting; woody/roasty with some sweetness as well. Unfortunately, the flavor is extremely watery and bland, some carbonated bite and a lingering malty finish. Too bad.

11.2 oz. / 330 ml. brown Belgian stubbie bottle. Cryptic date code on the back label, and that’s about it for a freshness date. Part of a Belgian six pack sampler I got at Rips. Poured out a dark caramel color, with a decent, but short lived white head. The head slid back to a decent matting of lacing floating on top of the beer. Thick aromas of malts along with the spicy Belgian yeast makes for a delicious experience. This is a decent beer, even though the ABV is lower than it’s bigger brothers. The tastes are definitely there, and leave you wanting more. More than decent in my book. Try some for yourself.

330 mL bottle in gift pack from LCBO. App.: pours cloudy, orangey-amber with a substantial orangey-tan head. Aroma: sour (vinegar) and apples. I tasted it and it’s off for sure. Not going any further.

11.2 oz bottle from BevMo: Deep orange-amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is malty and bready. Flavor starts fruity followed by caramel and a lightly bitter slightly dry orange rind finish. Medium body is smooth with lively carbonation.

Amber color and thin head. Doughy aroma , malty and spicy. Palate is also very malty and overall this is tasty but unspectacular.
