| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 24, 2004 Huge thick creamy white head. Drank out of the chimay glass with the etch in the bottom and this created a volcano of head coming up through the rest of the one-fingered white head. Lots of lacing down the glass as it goes too. The aroma is nutty with a pinch of caramel and lightly tart qualities. The flavor is earthy and medium bodied. More like a belgian ale than a amber....oh wait, that's the the category says. WTF is up with the bottle then?! Is an amber ale in belgian really a belgian ale? So an american amber is an american ale?! I'm confused. Anyways, back to the rating. Finishes very yeasty (I poured in the bottle conditioning, tee hee) and sulfuric. Overall this was pretty average as far as belgians and might I say, a macro belgian? Not to say they aren't artisinal, it's just that they seem pretty common and widely distributed. ok, not macro, "mass marketed". I live if fucking Idaho, if I can get this it must be something pretty damn widely distributed. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England

Otherwise I couldn’t get too excited about this. Malty throughout. Reasonably dry. Nothing wrong with it, but a bit dull.
