BeerEssential (91), Massachusetts, USA Aug 5, 2008 Tried a bottle of this at the Rhino pub in Toronto. Duvel shaped bottle sported a label calling this an Amber Ale, but I was disappointed as I expected something towards an Orval or at least Ommegang Rare Vos. Colour was a pretty clear copper. No aroma and little head with no lacing. Taste was soft (as the Commercial Description here reads) but lacking any interest. One of the weaker Belgian beers I’ve had.
terrybail (152), , Ontario, Canada Nov 19, 2008 330ml bottle from the LCBO as aprt of a Belgian sampler pack
The aroma is sweet honey and a touch of yeast
Pours a light orange amber with a nice white head and a lot of glass lacing
THe taste is a little sweet and spicy
I like it i could drink a lot of these Hazmatt (358), Virginia, USA Nov 1, 2008 Bottle. Poured a clear, sparkling golden color with a large white head. Aroma of yeast and sourness. Possibly infected this beer had a tartness that wasn’t in itself bad, but detracted from an already bland flavor. Very mediocre. garthicus (577), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 1, 2008 Part of Belgian gift pack. Orange body, small white head. Aroma: Malt, peppery, some slight yeast. Flavour: Mild, slight pepper, a little yeast. Quite bland. Nothing incredible but I’m happy I had it. EHopper (171), Minnesota, USA Oct 27, 2008 Came as part of a variety pack. Light flavor, like a mass production beer with just a bit of flavor added. Pleasant aroma. Little aftertaste. Easy to drink. cking (756), North Canton, Ohio, USA Oct 27, 2008 Faint, spicy aroma with some earthiness thrown in. Clear copper body topped by a thin filmy head and moderate lacing around the glass. On the light side, sweet and peppery. Finishes thin w/ a sliver of lasting bitterness. Sweet, biscuity malt with mild, musty yeast flavors. Pepper and faded hop flavors. Nice brew that could be sessionable due to it’s mild pleasantness.
