Pours dark brown with a creamy, small head. Strong flavors come forward of caramel, raisin, honey, chocolate. Warm, thick-ish mouthfeel.

Tap at Brugge Brasserie. Small tan fizzy head that quickly dissipated, good lacing, cloudy, no visible carbonation, and a brown and somewhat purple hue. Caramel, licorice, sweet, some clove notes, and dark fruits for the nose. Flavor was caramel, not overly vinuous, sweet malt, and dark fruit. Mouthfeel was mostly smooth. Medium body. Very quaffable and a very enjoyable brew. Nicely done!

This draft brew from the brewery was sampled with the Indy crew. It poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized long lasting finely sized bubbles that left behind an opaque dark orange brown colored body with no visible carbonation and a very good lacing. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and smooth in the finish with a sweet malt aftertaste and a sweet malty flavor.

tap at the Brugge - Aroma is strong bubblegum, dark fruit, licorice, and yeast. Pours cloudy brown/violet with a small head and good lacing. Flavor is potent. Yeasty funkiness with the dark fruit, licorice, and spice to mix it up. The alcohol is hidden well but you know it’s there. Palate is sticky and sweet. Interesting and very tasty.

Deep purple and brown with a fluffy, tan head. Cherries, sweet cocoa, caramel, licorice, plums, lightly toasted bread, clove and maybe a touch of cinnamon. The body is thick, smooth and has a very soft carbonation that really pleases. The strong alcohol is basically undetectable and you’d never guess it to be 11%+. The sweet malt-dominate flavor is quite tasty. The blend of fruitiness, cocoa, mild grains and light alcohol is very pleasant. The elegant carbonation helps carry the depth of the malt to all parts of the tongue. I flew through my snifter and almost ordered another. It’s tasty, complex, imminently drinkable and has enough pop to really feel it. Really enjoyable.
