sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 30, 2007 On tap @ the brew pub: Poured a hazy gold with a fizzy white head. Aroma, light malts, yeast, a pleasant funk to it, lemons and light fruits. Flavor, light bready malts, yeasty, some funk, with a soft carbonation. Really nice beer. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Apr 4, 2006 tap at Brugge - Aroma is yeast, banana, lemon zest, and some pepper. Ted Miller said the only additve is rosebuds. Pours cloudy yellow brown with a medium head and great lacing. Flavor is in stages with the yeasty dough in the front, zesty citrus second, and then some tartness from the hops and a bit of spice at the end. Palate is smooth and creamy. An easy drinking lovely saision. Jokes (1453), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 27, 2006 Hazy, opaque (suspended yeast) golden body with a fluffy white head. A soft aroma of light citrus fruit, wheat, mild herbs, pilsner malt, a bit of sweetness, fresh floral wafts and a crisp, Noble hop character. The body is smooth and rather full, despite the light ABV. In the mouth, there is a nice smooth, sweet, fruity start. The middle shows a doughy yeast element, tropical fruit esters, a mild herbal/floral element and a hint of tart citrus. The finish is quite nice with a crisp, bitter twist that is actually rather unexpected. The hops are mild in the nose, but at the finish of this beauty, a fairly intense bitterness arrives and adds a wonderful twist. You are left with a nice taste in the mouth that really pleases. Apparently this just went on tap and could still use a little time to settle and clear out. As the yeast settles and this clears up, it could good from the strong offer that it is to becoming quite amazing.
