opaque orange, frothy beige head, heavy lace,
light fruity spicy aroma with hints of citrus,
creamy body,
balanced malt flavor with a sweet fruityness that’s well balanced with the spicy citrus character, the sweetness picks up a candy quality as it warms and becomes a spiced candy

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 5, 2005 Updated: Apr 22, 2009Lasting white ring covers a clear golden body. Yeast heavy aroma shows strong estery character, bringing obvious banana and pear notes. Fresh honeyed cereals proliferate on the palate while hay-like flavours never manage to dry the beer out. Instead, a weighty herbal character grows with every sip, in a intoxicating way combined with the high ethanol component. A very heady triple, perhaps a bit too hot for its own good. /////////// Now from the 750 mL bottle. Very very yeasty, but well-hopped, flowery and lemony tripel with strong banana esters and a gentle sourdough tartness. Authentic Belgian texture. Score would drop to 3.0

A prominent bready yeast character swirls around herbal hops and cracking straw in this authentic and fluffy Tripel.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam tops the misty golden sunshine.
-The aroma is too yeasty for my tastes and borders on being vegetal.
-The spicy, herbal hop bitterness is delicate and engaging.
-Polite tropical fruitiness adds complexity.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Bottle: (Am I the first bottle rater?) It poured a hazy light golden amber with a short-lived, modest creamy head. No lace. The aroma has warm spices, citrus and pome fruits, warm bread, alcohol, and a touch of butterscotch. Nicely rounded, creamy mouthfeel heated with white peppers. The flavor’s a touch of a letdown, being reduced to sweet pale malt, alcohol, and a lightened touch of spices. Not bad, but nothing special.
