Aroma is a little sour, lemon, and some spices. Taste is a tart, lemony, with some spices. Very light in texture and carbonation. Very easy to drink. I really enjoyed this beer due to its tartness, thanks josh for sending this one my way! bdigital (593), Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 12, 2008 Bottle: Cloudy pale yellow with a very minimal head and lots of carbonation. Nose is very mild with notes of lemon zest, grass, mint leaves, light acetic wheat with some subtle coriander and other spices...a bit thin but not horribly. Flavor is all of the above with an added grassy tone. Decent enough and pretty refreshing. WabashMan (817), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 26, 2008 Brugge makes a lot of beers I’d call "good...not great," but this one fails to live up to that standard. In a word: thin. Thin nose, thin color, thin flavor. Cornfield (4980), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 17, 2008 Bottle from Pat’s Liquors in Porter, IN, without a "The" on it: This has the classic Wit look, a cloudy pale straw body with a tall, sustained head. Oddly, very little lacing. Plenty of carbonation. The aroma was grassy with some soft wheat malt and a lemony tartness. The lemon intensified in the flavor, perhaps a bit too much, because it began to negate other tastes as the ale warmed. The finish is a combo lemony tartness with a grassy/herbal bitterness. Not too bad. theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2008 1 Pint 9.4 fl oz bottle courtesy of tjthresh. Pour is a hazed white golden with a well formed 1 inch white head. Pretty in my tulip. Aroma of earthy wheat, slight sourness, some lighter herbal notes. Fresh and organic nose. Taste is the earthy straw wheatiness from the nose, with a nice sour edge. A bit more citrus peel than herbal in the taste, and there is a semi-sweet finish which I wasn’t expecting. The aftertaste has a real nice grainy wheat to it. Palate is fairly thin, and gets a bit watery. Carbonation level is good, I am sure this beer is great with food. This was sort of a poor mans Westy Blond. Nice one, thanks for sending this my way Tom. MoDog (927), Griffith, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 16, 2008 Poured from a 750ml bottle and served in a shaker. This beer poured a cloudy golden with a quickly fading off-white head. Just a touch of lacing. The aroma consisted of sourdough, spicy cloves, and dried orange peel. The flavor was somewhat dry and included strong orange peel, citrus, and some light spiciness. The flavor was not quite as interesting as the nose had suggested. The orange peel really took over towards the bottom of the glass. The mouthfeel was light-bodied and lightly carbonated. Very drinkable. A decent beer. Pours golden with a cloudy complexion and a 1 finger bright white head. Nose is sweet, yeasty and slightly spiced. Taste is very light, with some nice bits of citrus and floral notes. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Updated: Apr 27, 2009Fairly good wit. Not quite what I was expecting, but good nonetheless. Pours a thin yellow, with an aroma that is something like perm. Flavor is watery and citrus. Banana, clove, orange, straw and spice make up the flavor. Some yeast and dough in the background. Thin and very drinkable.
