| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 7, 2006 Bottle. White lasting head. Relatively clear amber body. Strong and lovely malt aroma. Of course the taste of malt is evident but this beer also is also dominated by a taste of alcohol. Bitterness or sweetness could have done the trick. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 22, 2006 Bottle (330ml). At Saint Alexandre Pub, Québec City. Poured clear gold witha decent white fizzy quick-diminishing head. Initial aroma of dusty-dry sweet candy malt and alcohol, with soft yeast - as it warmed some jarring sour notes emerged. The taste was mild and - initially - quite pleasant; apples, yeast, alcohol, light candy malt - but as it warmed it took on an odd sour malt/fruit aspect I didn’t love. Slightly watery body, sticky mouthfeel, nicely carbonate and mildly alcoholic - had a bitterness in the finish and aftertaste that didn’t belong. Not a bad beer, but in the lower third of tripels for that - lacks character and true tripel yeast character. bluevegie (2222), Perth, Australia

Pretty common to find in Brugges and also in Belgium, worth a try but not exactly a second or third. elektronikfagtekniker (892), kbh, Denmark
