| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Feb 18, 2009 Bottle (in NZ). Pours a pleasant gold with a filmy white head. A mixed nose of soft yeasty banana and sharp citrus. The palate is all raw - raw grain and raw alcohol. As it warms in the mouth there is some herbal and fruity touches, but overall just too harsh. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 27, 2009 bottle, amber golden, a little cloudy with medium head. Nice taste that stays in your mouth for some time, a bit too sweet. LordCorkscrew (984), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 5, 2009 Horizontal tasting Bruges (Brugge Tripel) vs. Ghent (Gentse Tripel). Bottled (thanks mom), BB 30-10-2006, sampled 05-01-2009 (about 5 years old). Small dying head, dark golden coloured. Aroma of orange, caramel and some spices. Sweet and alcoholic flavour, some malts, cloying. Finishes dry. Pretty awful tripel. Past its peak at this age, or just never really good? Ghent wins this one, hands down. bkurtz (276), Peru
