330ml Bottle - Gold/amber with a foamy white head. Fresh and fruity aroma, with hints of dried apricot. Fruity and hoppy taste with a fair amount of bitterness. Peach and apricot can be detected in the bitter and fruity finish.

On our honeymoon during our two day stay in Brugge we visited the bar our first night and had a couple drinks but forgot to bring our present. But the next afternoon we stopped in and gave our waiter from the night before a bottle of Peche Mortal - and were presented with a bottle of anniversary beer. Now sitting in the living room back in Ottawa, playing Euchre abnd decided it was about time to open something nice from the trip....so.... Giant white head, opaque on the pour, yeast and barley in the snoof (and yeast on the side of the bottle). Honey, more barley and spices on the first taste with a slightly dry finish. Tried top detect the licorice but just couldn’t find it with all to other spices.

Huge, just off-white head over fully hazy orange-yellow beer with a greige shine; well-carbonated. Flowery nose, chalk & leather; slightly grassy hops. Strange, but pleasing jumble of aroma’s. Sharp, lively taste with pale malts, hops and again this leathery flavour that is actually quite nice. Spicy flavour, slight cardemom - maybe the liquorice, but it certainly isn’t identifyable by me. Quite sharp, slighlty burning MF, very spritzy, but well-bodied; creamy, yeasty texture (yeast all in suspension, might yet settle). Quite nice, spicy strong blond ale, well-balanced despite its youth.

This year, famous Bruges’ beer pub ’t Brugs Beertje is celebrating its 25th. anniversary ! "Brugge’s Little Bear" opened exactly on Friday, May 13, 1983. (Friday the 13th. !, one of the luckiest dates ever) For this wonderful occasion, a new beer has been launched. The beer itself has become a true wonder of hoppiness ! "Dry Hopping" with Golding hops from Poperinge are one of the main characteristics. A small dose of licorice accentuates the hoppiness even that more. Tasting this golden blond 9.2 vol% triple is quite some treat. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, bottle refermented, pure nature’s job. The hoppy bite is remarkable ! Fruity at the same time, and the new Regenboog house yeast improves the quality with such a big degrades ! I can only come up with my amazement about this wonderful new brew from Johan Brandt. The perfect 25th. ’t Brugs Beertje anniversary present ! This golden blond beer has a great creamy head, and is refreshing dry-hopped with just the right amounts of Poperinge Golding hops. Be aware, this beer is still 9.2 vol% strong ! To drink with care. Refreshing, delicious hoppy (especially in the nose), fruity, dense, full body quality. A great beer. Hurry before it’s all gone !!!! Only available at my local Bruges’ bar ’t Brugs Beertje, and this until the last drop....
