| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 13, 2004 The Lure: Discreet woody, peppery hops escape from the macro grain. A nicely-sized head subsides pretty fast to retreat into the translucent peachy, hay yellow.
The Festivities: Big bubbles push forth a confident, dry hay character which later recalls wheat. Shy hoppiness accompanies the yeasty oranges and a residual bitterness which seems to come from the (wheaty?) grain.
Transcendence: You know those people who think they’re cooler because they’re drinking something imported? lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2004 Slightly hazy beer with a warm gold-blond color and with a white fluffy head. Nice fruity hints in the nose with touches of cakes ending with a lemony freshness. Mild taste with a weard vegetal freshness. Good carbonation with a minty-lemony accent. in the afthertaste, the mildness and the fresh apricot accent of this beer is turning into a dry bitter hoppyness. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Nov 18, 2004 Totally limpid straw yellow. Huge frothy head disappears within seconds, forming big exploding bubbles. Mild yeast, pineapple, lactic whipped cream, phenols and grassy hops. Very sweet palate, blandish and closing to sinful belgian malt liquor territory. A sweet malt bed over which lie grassy heat that cuts very short. Mouthfeel is pretty decent otherwise, crisp carbonation and slight oily tartness. This was weak, much more than expected. Pils malt comes out truly faint, alcohol is rather obvious for this strenght, apperance is depressing at best and aftertaste is very sweet in a grainy type of way. Flavourwise: a slight banana, but mainly just a very crisp, slightly bitter, but easy drinking ale. A more than adequate accompaniment to a delicious steak au poivre.
