Slight burn going down due to the high alcohol content. Spicy undertones, well balanced without too much hop or malt dominating with just a touch of sweetness. Very nice all around! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 18, 2003 Pours a slightly cloudy copper color with a big, white head that lingers. It has a good, spicy aroma of yeasts and hops with a touch of malts. The flavor is full and smooth, with a malts and yeasts pedominating the start and hops making a play in the finish. Another in a long line of wonderful Belgian ales. CapFlu (3494), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2003 Bottled 330 ml.The colour of Golden straw with a chunky head. Oily hop aroma, rich with promise. The beer has sweetish malt overtones then gets quite tart bitter. The strength is much in evidence. A great end o night beer. Gusler (2655), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2003 The beer as it sets in the “Triple” glass is a ambiguous golden orange color, the head is portly in size, the color and off white, and the texture spumous, as the head decays, it leaves behind a fine covering of lace to seal off the glass. The nose is loaded with malt aromas, slightly plummish, crisp and fresh, the start is malt laden and lightly sweet. The top is middling in feel, the acidity biting, and the hops purposeful in their spicy bite, also vinous, tart and the aftertaste quite dry and long lasting.

Malty, honey, fruity aroma with alcohol coming out as it warms. A delicious fruity malt mix that is enhanced by the creamy head that last through the whole beer to give you a wonderful mouthfeel. I cant believe this was on the $0.99 discount shelf at my liquor store, one of my best best beer buys ever. Voivod (304), Como, Italy

The taste is delicate, with a light sourness and a good peach flavour, with some sweetness (caramel) in the aftertaste. The alcohol is well hidden. Nice tripel! Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA
