Sampled at the JimMack ’06 Invitational. from a six year old magnum that EyeDrinkAle brought back from europe. color is cloudy dark golden brown. solvent-like aromas, signs of oxidation. flavor is like a cheap scotch but not too hot. dryish malts, downright homeopathic tasting.

Magnum thanks to EDA. Hazy golden color with no head. Medicinal, vinous aroma with lots of oxidation. Stale, carboardy flavor with some yeast, tart apples and Windex(at least what I imagine Windex would taste like). Very little carbonation. Not a nice beer.

Jimmack "06. Pour was clody with small head. Nose was shellac!? Taste was not as good as the bad nose!! Ryan, however, as Paul stated, really took a liking to this.

Magnum shared by EDA at Jimmacks. Thanks Mike! Cork had almost no hiss as it was opened which is never a good sign. Pours a cloudy almost still )very little carbonation) deep gold, copper with no head. Aroma is of oxidized cider and cardboard, paint thinner and very solvent like. Tastes medicinal phenolic, with more oxidation and stale bread. Slightly yeasty and astringent finish. Pretty nasty stuff. Good thing Frumpty decided to start chugging this stuff, so no one else would have to suffer through it. Thanks Ryan!

Bottle. Clear bright gold with a huge white head. Spicy, crisp, mineral and yeast aroma. Clean, sweet and spicy with earth and banana notes. Long bitter finish.

Amber coloured, with an average white head and some carbonation.Light malty aroma, little spicy and fruity. Some hints of yeast as well. Full body, rather sweet-bitter finish with some alcoholic touches. Not bad at all.

bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a timid head. The aroma is pleasantly sweet with plenty of spices. The alcohol is mild and blends well. The flavor is soft and sweet with cloves, fruit, and an array of spices. There is also an earthy, treebark aspect which is deep in the background. This makes a fine treat or dessert, or hell, anytime beer.

This bottled brew marked BBF 09/07/02 poured a small sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting off-white colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained no visible carbonation, was very hazy with a lot of yeast chunks and brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of vinous malts and dough. Its mouth feel is tingly mildly vinous with a port like smooth vinous aftertaste. Its flavor contained raisin plum port like vinuous malty dark beer brown malts notes and was very tasty. An excellent beer that I would buy again.
