This was at a little museum in Brugge. Bottle. Deep gold, big white head. Aroma was bready, some spice, almost clove like. Wheat bread flavor, with a fruity Belgian yeast, dry finish. A nice tripel. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 7, 2003 Brown/amber color with a big bubbly ecru head. Lots of extemporaneous stuff floating about. Heavy sweet aroma of dates, pears and apricots with wafts of alcohol. Strong overripe fruit flavors. Lesser notes of floral hops and spicy hops. Etoh comes out as it warms. Very light on the tongue. Quite acidic in the finish, with flavors of vanilla and coconut milk, cleanses the palate a bit much. Very much a triple, just not my favorite in the class. After the acidity subsides there are some long lastng flavors that are rather enjoyable. Boystout (900), Chisinau, Moldova
