Light caramel color, medium sized white head that had a decent staying power.Malty, fruity aroma, sort of a sweet wine like aroma.Malty sweet taste, nice carbonation that dances on the tongue, slight bitter orange taste that is not unpleasant.Nice bitter-sweet after taste with a slight citrus and mild amount of hops. The alcohol seems to be fairly well hidden almost undetectable.very nice brew.

sweet nutty and hoppy aroma, bronze hue with a large head, well laced, highly hopped with an orange character, dryish bitter finish, a decent Abbey beer.

On tap at the brewery. Rich head with a piney, hoppy aroma, and a trace of live yeast. Rich malt and orange-fruit flavor. Smooth, with a clear hit of alcohol and some yeast. Tangy hops spread to become clearer at the end, where the alcohol makes itself felt, followed by a quite bitter finish and strong aftertaste.

I don't know if I like it or not. It has a lot of things in it that's difficult to describe. Some tart sour, some wood.

Clear yellow-amber color, thick foam head that stays for a while. Smells fruity and spicey. In both the smell and taste there is some honey. Not to heavy alcohol taste.

(Fairly aged sample) Colour: clear light-amber. Thick creamy head, quite stable. Nose: straw, spicey, coriander, a bit fruity. Some caramel, figs. Cloying sweet taste, syrupy, toffee. Vague spicey notes. Some burnt malts as well. Liqueurish finish. Cloying mouthfeel, quite some alcohol. Again some fruitiness at the very end. Last quarter of the contents resembles yeast starter. Warming, it gets frankly undrinkable. Maybe I'm biased, but I recall 't Hamerken tripel (jet black) as superior to this 'Brugse' descendant. This, anyway, is too sweet for a real tripel, just not dry enough. If you're in for sweet strong beers, this is it.
