pilsnerrogge (1609), Finspång, Sweden Jan 28, 2002 The taste is an awful mix of yeast and alcohol.
thewolf (3959), Kolding, Denmark Oct 6, 2008 Bottle. [thank you, Joris]
Bottle is labeled De Gouden Boom, BBE: 19/12/05
Pours murky amber with a very impressive, staying, creamy, nearly white head. Bubbles away slowly. Heavy aroma, lots of cellar, but also toffee, plums, raisins, light cinnamon and yeast. Low carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Great flavour, very soft and subtle. Very light oxidation on top of a malty, vinious brew. Apples, a little chocolate, some plums, dry (hoppiness?) at the far end. Warming and still feels really fresh. Very complex combination of sweetness, viniousness and tart-like fruit. Very nice. cellar (386), Dublin, Ireland Jul 3, 2008 Thx for a grand tasting, Chris_o :)Dark amber, foffee, malt, overipe fruit, sweet and bitter. KimJohansen (4285), Copenhagen V, Denmark Jun 18, 2008 Bottle @ Chris O’s tasting. Hazy deep amber with medium off white head. Sweet and slightly sour aroma with yeasty and fruity notes. Sweet malty flavor with caramel, ripe fruits and yeasty notes. Dedollewaitor (2163), Odense, Denmark Apr 14, 2008 What? Rated this more than 2 years ago. Have my rating been deleated? 33cl bottle. Golden/amber with a large egg white head. Lots of fruit & yeast with a lightly spiced undertone. Alcohol is extremely well hidden. Very quaffable tripel from De Gouden Boom now owned by palm! Fin (2348), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Mar 30, 2008 Bottle from Glen Imdownthepub, cheers for this one Glen, had this 29-03-08 Bottle dated BBE 06-09-03 so quite well aged. Pours amber in colour with some haze, some spice on the nose and yeast. The alcohol pushes through and whilst this feels quite soft in the mouth it also has a lot going on, some nice spiciness but also a dash of tropical fruits sits on a solid malty base, aroma has softened with age, and this beer goes down surprisingly weel with my fiery lamb curry, once again cheers Glen.
