Pours an amber color with a small head that falls flat pretty quickly. The aroma is lightly fruity but there is no doubt that there is butterscotch and diacetyl in there as well. The flavor has some baking soda and some butterscotch with a light bitterness and fruity character. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 20, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Simple caramel malts tend to dominate the herbal hops until the finish in this slightly incohesive Amber Ale.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam laces atop the hazy amber.
-The aroma is once again very shy.
-The end result is still drinkable, but mostly forgettable and lacking a polished quality.

Poured a medium amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, and fruity. Tastes of caramel, floral, and had an herbalness to it. Light lacing left on the glass. jcwattsrugger (5333), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Jul 3, 2007 Updated: Aug 30, 2007Like most of this brewery’s beers, I did not find this one terribly exciting. It has also been inconsistent. In a time-span of about two months I have had it once where it was hoppier, and a second time where there were almost no hops noticeable. The malt dominates the flavor, it is a bit sweet and warm tasting. It also tastes thin and bland, however, without being refreshing. TomDecapolis (3173), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Apr 20, 2007 Pours a translucent amber with hints of golden and barely no head. Aroma of sweet malty caramel nose and not a whole lot more. Flavor of sweet caramel, toffee, nuts some fruitiness, citrus and overall kind of thin. snowden719 (130), USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Pours a dark amber with a white head. Sweet malty smell to it, with a hint of hops bitterness. Flavor is too sweet, and the hops don’t balance it enough. I usually find amber ales too sweet, and this is a good example of it. An ok beer but really lacks the balance a lot of their other beers have. CMUBEERMAN (415), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 0.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Jan 11, 2006 I had to tell one of the hottest bartenders I’ve ever seen at this hip Yale bar that the AmBar ale was the worst tasting beer I had ever had. She said really? And I said give me something else. I argued with her and eventually didn’t have to pay for the beer. This tasted like dirty sake and armpit.
