Wheatbeer and fruits. And in this case, quite a lot of fruits. If the label is to be trusted, there is a stunning 30% cherries and cherryjuice in this. This makes for a very red beer with certain impurities and a limited, slightly rose head. Pronounced -but apparently authentic- flavor of cherries and good balance between a slight sweetness and a ditto sourness. 080105 Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 7, 2004 Bottle from The Offie, Leicester. Sweet, very jammy aroma, some plums in there. Red/orange with no head. Some reasonable tartness to start things off, then an effervescent, but singular cherry taste. Lacks power in the flavour and at the finish. Plain. Not a killer Kriek. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Apr 14, 2004 Pale pink head, lively at first, but fast gone; fully clear, garnet red. Syrupy nose, going over in even less credible children's sweets. Heavy, cherrygums' taste, going over in some rather better tartness on the palate. Acidity is lemony - fake. Terrible gums' flavour goes on and on. Light to medium bodied; slickness - from the syrup... In Dutch we have an expression: "een afknapper" - the ultimate desillusion, the female that makes everything go limp. This is a textbook example: after the nice peach and raspberry, I really thought they had something nice going. So, it's no: this scores badly on all fronts: no haze, terrible aroma & flavour, fake acidity. Bweeeuhh. RichardGretton (3145), Leicestershire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 13, 2004 Still purple brew with a steady head, tart cherry aroma and a dull cherry flavour. Overall a plain kriek. leaparsons (4730), Leicester, Leicestershire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2004 Pinkish red in colour. Aromas are strong cherry. Flavours are initially sweet, then some cherry sourness comes through. Quite dry and then quite soapy. Like the others - a decent low alcohol fruit drink.
