rman18 (150), South Amboy, New Jersey, USA Jun 16, 2008 Ouch, this was just not good. I again expected this to be a darker beer and it wasn’t which is just fine but that when i tasted this it was just gross. Tasted like peaches with undertones of tobacco and dirt. Thankfully I bought the half pint and drank this down really fast - puked a little in my mouth. philippe_m (27), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jun 5, 2008 Updated: Jun 6, 2008Sympa, ça sent bon les pêches et les pommes. Faut l’essayer ! Nuffield (2536), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 4, 2008 Sorghum! Funnily enough, I expected this to be a really dark beer, and the guys at the stall said "that’s what everyone has said". Perhaps that is racism (Nigeria = deepest darkest Africa), but it may also be the influence of how many people experience sorghum in beer: through the Nigerian Guinness, which is brewed with sorghum. At any rate, I’ve had other sorghum beers so I shouldn’t have been surprised. Very clear yellow, loose white head. Fundamentally different aroma--pretzels jumped into my mind for no apparent reason, and then flowers and raspberry sorbet. But, then I drank some: REALLY really astringent. Wow. Cardboard undertones, notes of tobacco. Rarely is there a beer with such widely disparate aroma-flavor experiences. But you can’t rate on aroma, and this was just not good in the mouth. (on tap, Montreal Beer Festival, 2008).
