rsmeds (190), Turku, Finland Oct 10, 2008 Draught @ Bruuveri, 9 Oct 2008.
A brand new brew that the brewmaster wanted feedback on, suggesting the recipe might change a bit before it’s finalized.
So, keep in mind this is something of a preview, subject to change.
Pours a very cloudy amber, with a deliciously thick, creamy off-white head on top (with great retension -- there was still cream left in the bottom of the pint when i was finished!)
Aroma was somewhat less spectacular: Dry, bitter hop aroma, with a hint of alcohol.
In the flavor, the hops were more aromatic, grassy, and were accompanied by some alcohol and background fruitiness to balance the bitter. Very very dry finish, leaving a bitter aftertaste with alcohol tanginess.
Full bodied, very dry mouthfeel, relatively mild carbonation.
Unfortunately, the alcohol becomes gradually more and more prominent, and in the end almost smothers the other flavors, leaving a dry, tangy aftertaste. Surprising for such a relatively low ABV -- the dry bitterness probably contributes to this effect.
So, in conclusion, a promising and distinctly different ESB, that in my opinion just needs a little tweaking to keep the tanginess at bay.

Next time I asked it was sold out. More please! mjs (614), Helsinki, Finland Oct 17, 2008 (Draught at the brewpub on 2008-10-15) Pale amber. Almost clear. Midium sized and quite long lasting white head. Fruity and hoppy nose. Full, dryish and sticky palate with lot of carbonation. Malts, sweetness, hint of grass, bitterness and fruitiness in taste. Bitter and fruity aftertaste. Not an ESB but still quite good. FatPhil (2404), Espoo, Finland Oct 10, 2008 Keg (Bruuveri, Helsinki)<br />
Rich slightly hazy amber, healthy head. Rather thin on the aroma front - if you stretch you can find some sweet fruitiness. Crisp sharp carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet, but richly hoppy. Served a bit cold. Didn’t think this was an ESB, thought it was more like a Belgian Ale. Very tasty, really enjoyed this.
