Commercial Description:

0.5 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Ruby color. Sweet, worty, toffeish and nutty aroma. Tastes of toffee, nuts, licorice and raisins. Tasty a bit different german beer.

Pours a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head that soon desapeared. Aroma of some caramel and malts and sm. Flavors of caramel and roasted malts with a sweet bitter taste. Quite a sweet smokey finish but a flat ending.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Clear amber coloured with a mid-sized head. Looks more like a Vienna than a Dunkel. The flavour identifies it as a Dunkel, though. Caramel, roasetd malt, toffee and hints of coffee and bitter hops. The malty base is quite shy, the beer is surprisingly light-bodied. A solid Dunkel.

Bottle: Clear, copper coloured, quite quickly collapsing loose beige head; light fruity-caramelly nose with a shy hoppy background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, almost a bit sticky; light to moderate sweetish-caramelly finish, including a light - balancing - bitterness in the aftertaste. Uniformous Dunkel......

(bottle) Clear, copper colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Slightly dusty, sweet and toasty malty nose with notes of dough and a shy tinge of caramel and cacao. Sweet and minimal acidic flavour, light to medium bodied with a crispy carbonation. Rather flat and doughy toast-malty taste; moderately sweet and slightly sourish malty finish (21.II.09).

No head, copper-orange colour - not very "Dunkel". Sweet, freshly baked bread, some alcohol, leafy. Sweet, high percentage restsugars, and caramelized malts. Medium bodied, grist slickness. More like a Dunkler Bock than a Dunkel - but good!
