Dark orange, which is a light color for the style. Maple and coriander nose, simple scent really. Good body, rich but still a bit thin. Roasted nuts (almonds, peanuts, sunflower seeds), maple flavors, surprisingly good. More of a scotch/brown ale hybrid in my mind. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Aroma suggests pears, brown sugar and toasted malts with a floral undertone. Hazy amber-brown body is topped by a decent, fine bubbled tan head that recedes to a relatively well-lasting cover with some nice lacing. Sweetness up front is joined by a quick hit of dark malts and light offsetting bitterness. Caramel lingers in the aftertaste. Medium full body with wonderful soft-bubbled carbonation. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in Apr-09. pantani (1896), Salinas, California, USA

Sweet malt with nutty notes, flavour has just enough bitter hops to to make it interesting. Average palate. Pleasant but unexceptional. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
