Thanks to egajdzis for sharing this 22 oz bottle... Appears a hazy, light orange, with a creamy white head that slowly fades out into a floating cap. Lots of scattered lace sticks along the sides of the glass. Smell is of caramel, citrus, oak, pine, toffee, with biscuity malts jumping out at me. Taste is of the aromas with a nice blend and balance making for an enjoyable IPA. Good caramel notes in the malt mixed with the toasty biscuits and bitters of the piney/grapefruit hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, yeasty, bready, sweet, caramelized malt, and a spicey bitterness. Drinkability is that of a nice, quaffable brew.

Poured a hazy copper color with a small, off white head that left spoty lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral, piney hops as well, citrus, and toffee malts. Taste was somewhat nutty, with citrus, light orange peel, more toffee, and a dry, bitter, grapefruit finish.

Pours a slight chill hazy deep copper with a fluffy white head. Aroma is lots of grapefruit, somewhat old and musty though- light metallic hops and some pine. More grapefruit hops in the flavor, sweet bready pale malts, fruity- apricot and citrus with light pine. Harsh piney bitterness in the end. Pretty good overal.

A very nice hoppy beer. Maybe not IIPA stuff but damn sure a decent IPA fo’sor’ Nose was huge grapefruity hops. Great bitter flavor on the tongue. This would be a good brrew to always have on hand.

Pre-GTMW tasting @ 1FastSTi’s place. Hazy amber with off-white cover. Aroma was grapefruit, caramel, floral, quite big. The flavor is very bitter, dry, citrus and caramel. Medium/light with a light astringency, bitter end.

bomber. Aroma: A very nice sweet malt aroma, grapefruit, honey, a touch of pine, and oddly a touch of strawberry. Appearance: Dark amber and hazed. Head was off-white, full and creamy. Diminished into a nice cap. Good chunky lacing. Flavor: Lots of caramel and maltiness up front, but hop flavors come in soon after. Good citrus flavor of grapefruit and orange, pine, and a touch of resin. A little grassiness, as well. Bitterness comes in with the hop flavors and is quite nice. Bitterness builds towards the finish, and then subsides into a nice sweet/bitter finish. A little bitterness lingers into the aftertaste. Palate: Full bodied and smooth. Moderate carbonation. Overall: This is a good IIPA, but hop flavor could have been a little more intense. This is a year old now, so maybe that has something to do with it. I’ll have to re-rate when (if) they release it again.

Word to SS for this one. Slightly hazy amber color. Citrus aromas and a little pine. Nice hops. Taste is a little underwhelming. I understand this bottling did not go off so well so want to give this one another try. Bitterness up front that levels off into a nice sweetness. A little less intense than what I am used to in a double IPA. Decent nonetheless.

Pre-Great Taste sampling at 1FastSti’s house

I popped this open to change the pace from a slew of maltier beers. It originally came from my Secret Santa - thanks whereever you are. This was a well done IIPA. It was not quite as in your face as some are, but this was balanced out with a nice flavor profile and finish.

Aroma / Appearance - The nectar colored body captured about half the light which trickled through, highlighting the carbonation within. Scents of grapefruit, floor wax, spruce, pine and hops formed a tempting nose.

Flavor / Palate - The mouth puckering bitterness lasted for about thirty seconds before I began to detect the spruce and pine notes. There was a trace of vanilla underneath. The aftertaste lingers for quite a while, leaving a bitterness that only gives up when you finally rinse your palate with water. Unlike other IIPAs though it is not quite so intense that your mouth dries out. Well made and apparently pretty cheap, I may have to pick up another bottle of this for myself.
