Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy & tupalev - courtesy of HogTownHarry (from mullman). Hazy golden-amber with a moderate white head. Great hop notes in the aroma, very juicy and fruity (orange, lemon, even a hint of peach). Flavour is expertly balanced, with the fruity and flowery hops sitting alongside some solid malts. Medium body that works perfectly with the flavours. A fantastic IPA, and a great way to finish the tasting.

Thanks for sharing Harry, a real treat after some of the mediocre stuff we had tonight and a great way to finish the night off. Neat hazy yellow, decent white head - looks great. Lovely hop aroma - citrus and a unique soapy malt characteristic (fist time I’ve used soapy in a good way as a description) - nice! Wonderful hoppy taste - flora and pine, deftly balanced over a medium body. The hops become more and more perfume like as it goes on, almost like the Avery Saison. Long lemon hop finish. A wonderful IPA.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and tupalev - my bottle via trade with MullMan. Poured cloudy, active orange (shaded to yellow at the top of the glass), with a smallish off-white creamy head. Aroma of rich juicy hops, apricot and citrus, solid rich malt - the hops were not just the usual sharp west coast hops but lightly resiny with some UK character making it a bit funky. Flavour of hops (see above), black pepper, rich malt - this is floral, juicy and pungent and a real treat after rating TWELVE mediocre-at-best Saranacs. Mouthfeel was creamy, astringent and juicy - rock-solid body for a rock-solid, not run of the mill double IPA - love that hop medley. Thanks, MullMan!

22 oz bottle, via kujo9. Pours a slightly hazy copper with a fluffy craggy white head that had great retention. Aroma is so powerful I can smell it literally from two feet away. Deep citrus hop aroma with some piney characteristics over a sweet malt base. Aggressively hopped flavor that overpowers the malt a little bit, but not too far out of balance. Very crisp and deep hop flavor. Finish has so much lingering bitterness it tastes like I just chewed on a fresh hop cone (that’s a good thing). I didn’t really get anything from the orange peel, but since it wasn’t listed on the bottle, and I try not to check out the ratings before I taste, I really wasn’t looking for it either. Beautiful soft bottle conditioned mouthfeel, very creamy and rounded on the palate. Very nice Double IPA, intense yet drinkable in a 22 oz volume, something I can’t do with some DIPA’s. Alcohol was pehaps the most well hidden among the Double IPA’s I’ve had. Well above average.

Pours a hazy, amber-copper color and is topped by a three-finger thick, light tan colored head that is quite long lasting. The aroma is definitely hop dominated with notes of pine and herbs being evident. Underneath the hop aromatics there is a bit of dry, toasty malt and a hint of sweet caramel. There is also a touch of orange and citrus type aromatics in the nose.

The beer has a nice, up front, candied sweetness that serves as a foil to the herbal pine-like hop notes. The beer also coats the mouth quite nicely with a lingering, creamy palate fullness. This beer strikes a nice balance, but the hop-head in me thinks that the hops could be a bit more in evidence. The malt notes make me think of caramel, a bit of toffee and there is a particular note that makes me think of slightly old malt extract (i.e. the malt seems a bit flabby). Despite my gripes about some of the flavors, this beer is definitely is hitting the spot right now.

Murky amber color with a thin head. Nice and strong citrus aroma. The taste is a great balance of stinging citrusy hops with a good malt backing. It’s obviously an IIPA, but not totally out of whack with itself. Well done.

Bottle sent thanks to Sliffy. Pours an average looking IPA pour, light amber orangish with minimal head. Nose is piney, big hop bite on the nose. Flavor is again piney, citrusy, with a slight maltiness to make it an overall pleasent experience.
