thanks to wolhfs at the Kuhnhenn gathering on 6/10. from the bottle. poureda cloudly orange, with a creamy white head with some nice lacing. aroma nice hops and malts, grapefruit, pine, flavor my 1 st thought was that I was drinking avery eleven, got a nice malts, caramel, and the hops those hops nice and smooth. good beer

Opulent, transparent bronze with liquid gel-like bubbles rising to the surface. (Consecutive pours yield a fizzy thin sheaf with nice lacing. Regardless, this patriot is all about what ensues next...) Incredible aroma, condensed to sugar sprinkled grapefruit, mango, honeydew, vigorous citric squeezes and some nectar. Flavor bridges the promising aroma to solid Double IPA principles. Hops trickle in like acupuncture on the palate, chafing it and then depositing elements of papaya abstract, pineapple and pine needles in the niches they carved. At times it’s like licking and nibbling away at a caramel hops lollypop. Needless to say, it’s hops heavy, with ever sip turning over a new bitter nuance. Some caramel and honey sweetening generated from the requisite sweet malt support. Admirable, succinct and unquestionably balanced. Finishes dry and abrasive with a sour squeeze from said pineapple hanging around with a squelching hops bitterness, and I resist putting anything else into my mouth for quite some time out of fear of ending this experience.

22oz bottle - Pours a dark murky amber color with a 1/4 inch offwhite foamy head that lingers and laces. Aroma is mostly hops.. grapefruit, pine, behind that is some sweet caramel malt and even a little of that orange peel. Flavor is surprisingly malty. Sweet caramel malts, apricots, and oranges blend well with the bitter citrus grapefruit hops to make a very pleasant flavor that can best be described as smooth. On the palate this is full bodied but quite refreshing and balanced. Very smooth and an excellent moutfeel. This is very good.

Courtesy of Wohlfs. Pours dark hazy orange with nice white head. Big pine hop aroma with lots of sweet malt/sugar background. Initial flavor is all c-hop, pine and grapefruit. Big malt kick throught the middle and a long residue aftertaste. Very nice indeed.

Hazy orange excellently hopped citrus orange IPA. Refreshing, a bit of leaf and well malted. Very grapefruit aroma. Lucky to pick up a bottle this year. Biscuit of malt initially, but acidy finish builds up by 3rd glass,

copper, white head. aroma of fruit cocktail, mixed berries, oranges and pinesol. big huge hop flavour with lots of orange, herb and pine, but it’s actually quite balanced qith caramel and fruity malt. very tasty.

Medium-dark, slightly hazed copper with a thick and lasting, dense creamy head. Big, hoppy aroma. Lots of spruce and grapefruit with an undercurrent of dried apricots. There’s actually enough malt in this that it shows up with the big hop attack. The hops turn a little raw and ragged in the flavor, but the malt backbone is strong and slightly sweet. This is a really good beer, but wish the hops were a little less harsh in the flavor.

Clear pale amber, the head leaves quite fast. Very oily nose, pineapple and resin abundant, resinous even. Fruity apricot skin doesnt quite cut through the heavy citric bite. Sappy in mouth, a bit fuelic, sourdough reminiscent, maltiness feels a bit limited despite the ample medium body. Light carbonation, agressive bitter finish. Not the best balanced..
