The aroma is very well hopped, citrus and floral notes throughout, but there is also a sweeter berry-like fruity smell as well. I haven’t tasted this beer, but im liking it already. Flavor starts with a decent thick malt sweetness, where the berry flavor comes out a bit. Then the hops take charge and let you know your drinking something with a good kick. After that, it gets even better with a sweet ending an a warming feel as it goes down. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Every beer I’ve had from Buckeye has been a delight. While there are some aspects of IPA’s and there double counterparts that may deem them easy to create, there’s still plenty of room left for artistry and this shows that in waves of lace and aroma and all the olfactory delights one might hope to find. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 8, 2004 Frothy white head, clear orange body. Fresh oily aroma with penetrading notes of clementine and hops. Flavor is almost exaggerated fruity for an IPA, dominated by strong clementine notes. Dry bitter hoppy also. Foamy mouthfull. Odd but nice!
Thanks Steve (wohlfs) for trading me this interesting IPA! brentfeesh (1039), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 4, 2004 Updated: Sep 16, 2005Solid (changed some things on the re-rate, but as it was very similar I did not change the overall score or add a seperate paragraph). Great citrus aromas that are heavy on the grapefruit. Some malty sweetness and spice type hops as well. Very balanced and inviting. Purs a hazy orange brown. At first sip there is a lite sweet malt taste that moves quickly into big spicey citrus and lite piney hop goodness. I thought it leaned more heavily overall to the bitter side of things, (but hey it’s an IIPA) but not in any way over the top. Some mineral contect also. This is solid. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

The flavor contains notes of citrus especially clementines, hops, and grass. The hops giving it a good bitter finish. Mads Langtved (2246), Copenhagen K, Denmark
