Bottled: Golden coloured. Clear. Huge off white head. Fruity and hoppy aroma. Some herbal notes. Flavous of fruit, alcahol, hops and light spices. Ends on a huge bitterness. Like this.

22 oz bottle #399/1000. pours a deep orange hue with tiny off-white head. piney hops, caramel malts, candy sugar-almost belgian like qualities. Ahh, turns out that this beer has orange peals in it. that maybe why i was getting that belgian characertistic. Estery aromas with some alcohol detected. flavors of pine sap, toasty malts, sweet sugar and alcohol was noticible. I sampled this against yulesmith and Dreadnaught on the same night. This beer seemed even hotter than the dreadnaught. I found this beer to be unbalanced somewhat due to its lack of covering the alcohol. This seemed more like a barleywine to me (maybe it was because it was a few months old). The palate was biting and kinda harsh on the tongue. Thanks to Jsquire for the bottle.

RBSG Portland 2004. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is medium amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, toasted bread), moderately hoppy (flowers, apricot, grapefruit), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of peach, plum, orange peel, honey. Flavor is heavily sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Finish is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, heavily bitter. Medium to full body, creamy/velvety texture, lively carbonation. I didn’t expect to like this at all, but found it wonderfully complex in the aroma (the hops rode tandem with the malt and yeast characters, instead of leaving them back in the trunk). Rich malts and very fruity without being biting, pungent, or harsh. Yeah, it’s a mouthful, but it’s very creamy and pleasant, not grating at all. Great stuff, and I swear I didn’t know they actually put real orange peel in this when I wrote the review...it really *is* that orangey.

Damn what a beer. Pours dark orange with a big fluffy white head. Fruity hop aroma. Big grapefruit taste with a huge hop aftertaste. Really sweet as well. Well done.

Thanks to Rockinout. Nice deep orange color. Reddish hue when held against light. Nice citrus hop aroma. Centennials did a nice job in this brew. Malt stands up nicely. Full body. Satisfying lingering hops at the end.

RBSG04: Inviting aroma. Soft and sweet malt base. Very nice aromas, with notes of sweet orange, flowers, and a little spice. Mild bitterness. Flavorful and enjoyable to drink.

Slightly cloudy orange. Good frothy head and lacing. Big hoppy nose, orange scents and hops. Thick texture. Noticeable alcohol. Strong hops and finish.
