Kind of subdued for an Ipa. Almost British. Not that it’s a bad thing, actually it’s refreshing. Good malt body lending itself, but not being overwhelmed by the hops. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2004 Medium orange color, very yeast-filled int he nose with some creamy. Belgian type of yeast, I guess. Smooth hop bitterness, very soothing. Not sharp at all, but really damn tasty with a creamy hop flavor. IPFreely (1470), Lewiston, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 14, 2004 On tap. Hazy amber color, full and firm off white head. Spicy hops in the nose with a solid amount of malt. Flavor has a great malt prescence up front, sweet and a bit caramelly, followed by lots of citrusy and spicy hops. Great balance. Lively mouthfeel, yet a bit creamy. Very enjoyable. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2004 The bottle doeasn’t win any points for beauty -as I’ve seen better homebrew bottles. Alas, the beer is what we rate.
On that front, this is standard fare. The flavor is fresher than the aroma, and the tongue is lively. I can detect some extra orange in the bottle. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Have to keep telling myself I’m a Stoutie but these IPAs are really doing it for me. This was a deep amber with ample off-white head. Not surprising, the aroma was grapefruit/hops and impressive. Reaching the full body stage, creamy and smooth. Nicely carbonated. The flavor was a refreshing and crisp and clean citrus. Loved it. Thanks to my Secret Santa for this gem. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2004 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of large sized mostly diminishing bubbles. The body was hazy yet transparent softly carbonated light brown in color. It had a very hoppy aroma. The mouth feel was initially smooth and finished with a large hop bite. The flavor contained a lot of hoppiness sharp and to the point. It clearly yells out loud, “I am hoppy!” Mind your hops! JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 2, 2004 Reddish-gold body, thin white creamy head. Nice full hop aroma... flowery perfumes with pine hints. Sweet caramelly malt balances it nicely. Flavor is a lot of hops, followed by some soothing sweetness. It isn’t crazy-big though, which makes it good. Very good and smooth. After having a lot of IIPAs, this one is a typical hopity hopped ale. But it is still good. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2004 Bottle. Small creamy and smooth off-white head that contained fine-small sized bubbles that mostly diminished. Fast rising carbonation, somewhat hazy and an orange hue. Malty, hoppy, sweet and caramel aroma. The flavor was sweet, very hoppy, and some caramel. Tingly palate. Medium bodied beer with good lacing. Just way too hoppy tasting for my palate.
