6/23/03 - There is nothing like it - huge hops, big time orange peel - both in aroma and taste. This year's version is a little thinner in body - that's fine - it's perfect for summer, and this year I'll stash away more for the winter months. 10/20/02 re-rate: Krap, only 1 more bottle in the fridge after this one - has to last until next summer (assuming they brew it again, which they will if they are wise...) Feel the burn.... RE-Rate: The head is huge and almost like a merengue. That orange peel has fully coated my mouth - everytime i have this, i wake up not needing orange juice in the morning! I've had more than my fair share of this limited edition SCRUMPTIOUS!!!! original: Color is a brownish gold. huge head, great lace. Aroma is Hibiscus/clove/citrus. Medium thick body. Tries to start off with some malt, but the hops jump in from the start - from the front to back of the mouth, beginning to end, this is HOP-City. The dry hopped orange peel flavor is quite evident, I could still taste it in my mouth long after the beer was gone. Much hoppier than their Hippie IPA, which is listed at 80 IBU's - this has to be close to 100. A very intense experience!

Major props to Drew for this gem. Rich malty flavor, slightly sweet, leads you into a hop whirlwind with a nice twinge of orange peel. Long lasting bitter flavor and a beer to drink on any occasion. I hear this is 100 IBUs but it does so very seemlessly, without the over the top pine flavor of some west coast types.

The nose is intoxicating by itself on this one. I hear this is about 100 IBU’s. That should explain this ale. Wait- there is also a thick, frothy, fresh head that lasts and lasts. Also some citrus notes in the body as well as the nose. Boy this is tasty. Hop heads, you need to try this. You’ll probably have to wait till next year though, it’s listed as a summer seasonal.

Thanks OhioDad! Pours to a really murky brown body with a white head and spotty lacing. The aroma is VERY DELICIOUS. OMG. Can I buy more of this? Citrusy. Pineapples, grapefruits, mango. Sweet caramel malts. The flavor is a caramelly grapefruits and mangos. Light peaches and tangerines. Hoppy and sweet. The palate is medium bodied, lightly carbonated, hidden alcohol.

Damn what a beer. Pours dark orange with a big fluffy white head. Fruity hop aroma. Big grapefruit taste with a huge hop aftertaste. Really sweet as well. Well done.

Dark orange/copper color with a big creamy and lasting white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Malt and hop flavors. Very long bitter finish. Pretty well balanced and not over hopped.

Pours a blurry orange copper. The large rocky off white head has excellent lacing and is mostly lasting. The nose is grapefruit & orange, pine & spruce, warming spices are also present. Though powerful, the nose doesn't fully prepare you for the burst of flavor that awaits. The cornucopia of pleasing tastes is without weakness. Everything is present; warmth, sweetness, spiciness, and of course the bitters. The balance is exceptional, complimenting the fine depth. It doesnt' get any better than this IMHO. It was hard for me to focus on the palate. I took 10 or so "palate" sips and got too distracted by the flavors "was that raisins?" if you follow. The full, dry and soft body finishes very astringent. Exceptional.
