Some of the carbonation clearly was lost in the bottling process. Aroma is pale malts with some pine needles. Flavor is pale and fairly light witha bit of a candyish, earthy and a trace of peppermint maybe. Lingering dry bitter trailer. Barely fizzy enough to carry the palate. Interesting and a bit different. I must not be used to Amarillo as a featured hop. I’d love to try this fresh and on tap. Thanks to BuckeyeBoy via Silfly for this one.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Aroma: Fresh pine and citrus with a strong apricot note. Some dank earthiness and resin. Some light toasted malt lingers in the background. Appearance: Light orange/amber in color and clear. Off-white head was medium and frothy with fair retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Light caramel and toasty malt notes lead into a nice dose of hops. Pine and citrus, apricot and resin, grass and earth. Medium high bitterness and a dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: Solid IPA. Enough malt to hold it together, but lets the hops shine. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Golden apple juice pour, a thin white head quickly and mostly diminishing. Very little evident carbonation, very average appearance. The nose is of muffled but fresh grass and grapefruit, low acidity upon first impression, light toasted grain, mild lemony and even milder perfumy scents, orange peel and virtually no alcohol. The flavor is moderately bitter, lightly fruity, lightly to mildly astringent, mildly sweet, very mellow in all aspects. The finish is lightly bitter and leaves light toasted malt and grapefruit lingering. the mouthfeel is softly carbonated, smooth and passive. Smooth. Well-made. Ultimately boring. I prefer Boulder Mojo IPA for an all-Amarillo experience. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Courtesy sliffy. Pours a clear dark gold with a very small white head. Swirly and bubbly. Really unique and pleasant aroma. Almost buttery with juicy citrus hops and grapefruit backing it up. Some smooth caramel flavor is picked up too. Lovely. The taste is really very smooth, almost like butterscotch and hops combining their powers. Not much of a bite to it at all. Just a mild bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable and quite flavorful, even though it wasnt a big IPA. Nice hoppiness in the aftertaste, mixed with some traces of vanilla. Quite a nice little IPA. bu11zeye (5621), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of freshly cut juicy ruby red grapefruit and some orange. Flavor of fresh citric hoppiness with some caramel and floral qualities creeping in the finish. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA
