Aromas of lots of orange, a bit of pine, a little grapefruit, and good pale malts backing it up. Flavor is full with orange as well and some pine notes as well. Lots of pale malts behind it to back it up and balance it well. Palate is carbonated just right to make this feel soft in the mouth. Slight lingering citrus aftertaste makes you come back for more.. Pretty tasty stuff this is!

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Golden-orange in colour with a thin white coloured head, excellent lacing. The aroma was very hoppy with some pine, cedar, very light citrus and a bit of mint. The flavour is again very hoppy, dry, soapy, some pine, some caramel sweetness. Hoppy mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, hoppy and piney.
This was quite a fresh sample from a growler. A very good change after a weekend of sour beers.
A growler obtained in a trade with miketd, thanks Mike.

Nose is a gigantic hop explosion after what we’ve been drinking for the last 2 days. Caramel/toffee, juicy fruit. Flavor is caramel & hoppy goodness. Pine, mint mixed with some kind of fruit. Bitterness increases in the finish. krautdog (15), Gimmelstümph, Germany
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Tried this on tap at The Buckeye beerengine. It’s a very well done IPA. The Amarillo hops really stand out, it has an almost grapefruit aroma with a good balance between bitter/malty. It is a fairly light colored brew that’s smooth and refreshing, I had a couple of these to wash down the bottlecaps (fried Jalapeño slices) this is a very well balanced IPA.

Aroma is almost all hops with a slight hint of malt. Flavor is much the same, big hoppy and storng. Almost washes out the malt to a nice dry bitter finish. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA

Aroma is huge citrus and floral hops, with light caramel malts. Flavor is again citrus, floral, caramel malts. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation finishes bitter. Tis is really a very good IPA. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

This beer smelled like heaven upon opening the growler. Big, bold aromatic amarillo hops billowing out. Pour is gold, with no head, as it seems to have lost carbonation in transit, unfortunately. Almost reminded me of a fresh hopped beer with a nicely spicy tasting hop presence that was big in flavor, but not overly bittered. Very drinkable and I can see this being fantastic properly carbonated. Great IPA. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA

Obviously lost carbonation, so on one hand will say that it was diminished, but still felt I could see through the loss a bit to the beer it should or might have been. Tend to LOVE amarillo hops and the bitterness was quite nice. Shame it was near flat. Hope my rating comes close, but feel nothing negative about this - all the beers I recall from Buckeye have been just great. Can only imagine I would be adding more points were this straight from the tap and hope I’m not doing them a disservice by this rating.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jan 6, 2008 growler via trade with miketd - Pours a crystal clear orangish/golden color with a half finger thick white head that faded pretty quick. Very light, tiny spotty lacing. Aroma is big hops. It’s herbal, pine, light citrus, and light floral hops. Flavor is all hops with just enough malt sweetness to call it a beer. Mouthfeel is a tad bit thin and has an ever so slight astringent aftertaste. This is an IPA that can’t be mistaken for any other style. I bet it is even better fresh from the tap. Good stuff! Thanks Mike.
