| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 2, 2003 On tap RAF: Light copper color with little head and a crystal malt nose. Smooth toasty profile and quite drinkable, but this is mostly due to its somewhat watered down mouthfeel. An average brown ale. Skyview (4095), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Sampled at the RBSG ’07 Grand Tasting room, pours a clear dark brown brew with a very thin off-white head that quickly dissolves. Aroma of light roasted chestnuts, caramel, and some flowery hops. Taste is lightly carbonated, medium bodied, with some caramel and roasted malt flavors. Finish is slightly bitter with a watery malt aftertaste. A very good balanced brown ale. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

Lots of toasted malt flavor with a watery chestnut finish. Slightly bitter, but nicely subdued and not screaming. Pailhead (2609), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 24, 2004 On tap: Aroma is lightly malty. At the brewery so smell is a little hard to judge. Nice malty flavor with caramel, nuttiness, and roastiness. Lightly bitter and maltiness in the finish. Drew (2410), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2003 What a dark brown Brown - with a light tan head. The first few sips were foamy smooth - like a nitro beer, but with a lot more body. As it warmed, the palate stayed thick, but the carbonation mellowed a lot. Malts were a little nutty, mildly sweet - hints of anise at the finish - and backed up with a reasonable hop presence. Brown isn't my favorite style, but this one's quite drinkable. aracauna (2392), Georgia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 6, 2007 This has a great head retention over a clear medium-dark brown body. There’s a big nuttiness in the aroma and flavor, backed up by a solid maltiness one would expect in a robust brown ale. Low hopping. Almost salty in the finish. BDR (2170), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
