Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, candylike.(Very similar to charms blowpops.) Flavor is like the aroma with the addition of chocolate. Very good.

Brown color, small tan head that faded slowly. The aroma was malty and chocolatey with a sweet side maybe a little caramel as well.Very nice malt flavor, caramel and chocolate with a hint of coffee, semi -sweet with just a nice hint of alcohol. This is a nice brew, flavorful with a nice amount of alcohol that is just noticeable but doesn't get in the way of the rest of the flavor's.Thanks go to Drew for sending me this fine brew.

Bottle, found for only $3.99 in Dayton, lucky me! Anyway, the beer has a nice reddish brown color with a initial large frothy head which fades into a msall covering and left good lacing on my glassware. The beer comes off with a big caramelized and toffee malt nose with additional prune and apple aroma. A bit of earthy ester and hazelnut as well. The taste starts with a caramel and sugary sweet forefront supported by a nice apple like twang. The finish displays some mocha, mild bitters, and a touch of nutty qualities. The feel is lively and yet a bit oily as well, makes this bier quite quaffable despite it size. Wow, worth the long wait. This is a great brew and a dug it completely. Sure it isn’t quite to style, but then maybe that is why I like it so. Get ya some.

Paid $3.79 for a 650ml bottle. Pours a deep brown, with a larege head; reminds me of a cold glass of Diet Coke. Smells like roasted malts; nothing extraordinary. Sweet chocolate malts, with lots of caramel, live in this beer. It's rich, but not thick and filling. The alcohol is well masked, with only in the aftertaste does a hint pop in. A fine brew!

Drew is the Stud Ass Rater that hooked me up with Sir. Frankenbock, Thanks Bro!
Man, this is not what I was expecting, I haven’t had a true bock style beer in so long I had forgot what to expect. The body pours as motor oil would, a dark opaque mass with crimson edges in the shallows; the head was a frothy pillow of caramel hue.
The aroma is obscene…. it’s so inviting and enticing! I bet this beer is just waiting to molest my taste buds with it’s notes of toffee, caramel, mocha, figs and dates. Oh, F-yeah! This is great! The flavor is HUGE! Massive notes of dark fruits and toasted chocolate and caramel malts, reminds me of a Baltic Porter! The Frankenbock is like drinking a platter of Winter dates and figs, the rolled in brown sugar or a Canadian molasses…. Sweet, toasty and profound!
If the palate were more creamy this beer would be World Class! However, as it is now, it’s one delicious SOB!!

Smells much like chocolate and motor oil. Deep Dark maroonish black color with a hint of red when exposed to the light. Nice body, mild tart. Very good n smooth.

Pours a rich dark brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet and full of caramel with a nice bock character. Good thick malty sweetness throughout and very true to style. A nice bock with plenty of emphasis on sweet malts.

Deep red-brown body, thin light tan head. Rich aroma of dark caramel, toffee, raisin, prune and a hint of coffee and burnt sugar. Drinks like prune juice, with dense raisin and prune mingling with dark caramels and toffee, also offering the coffee hinted at in the aroma. Rather syrupy body. I’ll repeat one word: dense. One of the best American versions of the doppelbock I’ve sampled.
