Orange-amber colour with a mild haze. Spicy citric hops and brown sugar malt in the nose. Flavour is quite hoppy, but not over the top, with good sweet malt to back it up. Good stuff. blankboy (3212), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Pours a clear amber-orange with a small diminishing white head. Aroma has a nice balance of sweet malt and citrus hops. Flavour’s the same, citrus hops and sweet malt nicely balanced along with a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good IPA. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Bottle. Pours an orange-copper body with a small white head. The aroma is nice for an IPA - grapefruit, oranges and just the right amount of balance. The flavour carries the same characteristic - pine and sweet malt. Pretty good. Poured mostly clear amber with an average-sized head. Good citrus hop / malt aroma balance, resiny and a little spicy/dry. Tasted of carbonized malt and tons of bitter resin/herbal hops to go with the citrus. Decent body, nice dry astringency and very lively mouthfeel - left a slightly burnt aftertaste, but a decent IPA nonetheless AllAboutStout (605), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Pours a very dark amber with a slight half inch head that recedes to just a "froth".
Smell is citrusy hops. There is a small hint of piney hops coming through in the nose as well.
Taste is bitter hops. Not over the top, but enough to remember what you’re drinking. Taste is a little lacking. Not a whole lot to speak of outside the hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel is average. A little cloying with the piney hop factor after a while. It’s not a bad sessionable IPA. For a good "value play" on price and being a home-state brewery I thought I’d give it a chance. Not in the same league as a Hop-Slam or Double Simcoe. But at the price and as sessionable as it is, I would probably have again.

This is a benchmark for what an IPA should taste like. This is a good introductory beer for a neophyte craft beer drinker who wants to experience "full bodied taste". Aroma is very hoppy, some anise, floral tones, citrus. The flavour is significant hops, some grapefruit and other citrus notes. Well done. Dickinsonbeer (3494), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2006 Bottle thanks to Andrew (IMtheoptimator) at the CL gathering the other night. Perhaps a bit old, but still good overall. Pours a nice medium orange with some hazy and a nice off white fluffy head. Aroma is citrus and grasy with hints of orange peel and light caramel malts-slightly oxidized as well- papery. Ligher flavor with some citrus, herbs, tea-like and grassy with lighter pine and orange. Ok mouthfeel but is a bit highly carbonated- possibly due to age. Decetn IPA overall.
