Along with the hops in the aroma is a interesting spice smell. Taste starts sweet and malty, with some wheat character, and ends with a good hop bitterness to finish it off. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2004 The beer after its departure from the 22 ounce brown bottle takes up residence in my glass a nebulous rusty brown color, the head is dinosauric in size, creamy in consistency and the color a winsome light tan in color, after its decomposition the lace forms a thick and glutinous sheet to conceal the glass. The citrus like aroma of hops, and the sweet malt join to make a great nose, clean, fresh and oh so appetizing these IPA’s, and a style I once shunned like a trip to the dentist for a root canal. Start is sweet, rich with malt, the top fair to middling in its feel with the finish determined in its acidity. Hops are delectable, spicy in their bite, the aftertaste dry as the Arizona desert, a nice drinking IPA, not weak or not over the top, just plain “Good”, can’t ask for more than that.
