Aroma was hoppy with a hint of grass and citrus. I also smelt pachuli oil, but it may have been the dirty hippie standing next to me. The taste, conidering the name, was very balanced. It had the bitter bite you would expect from any IPA, but it went down really smooth. This is a great choice for an everyday IPA. 12many (231), Ohio, USA

Pretty solid in my opinion and easy to drink, but could definitely be improved upon if they made the effort. Smokepot23 (10), Riverside, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 22, 2008 Bottle. Poured an amber color, with a slight head. This one has a lot of front end hops that carry through to the back of the throat. A little malt character helps balance the hops, but it could use some more. This one tastes alot like HOP OTTIN and I enjoyed it just as much. Thanks to Baby J as she brought this one back from Cinci. estoppel (1028), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Bottle. Amber body, medium white head, crystal malt nose. Medium bitterness, really nice spicy finish, moderate sweetness, some graininess. Okay, like the spices but don’t like the grainy character. beerbill (1962), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2008 22 oz. bottle from my Summer Secret Santa. As noted by the previous reviewer, this beer is a very lively pour. I had to pour it very gently and slowly down the side of the glass, and at that still had 2/3 head and 1/3 beer. Pours a hazy amber with a huge yellow/white head. The aroma is mostly pine with a few notes of malt detected as well. The flavor is pine and the white pith of a grapefruit. Very light malt backbone adds little support. Bitter and lacks any real depth. Overdone. jb (1052), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Whoever primed this bottle prior to capping it put a bit too much extra malt or sugar into it. It was foamy foamy foamy during the pour. 2/3 foam, 1/3 beer. Piney aroma, also grassy. Like a hippie sleeping under the stars in a pine forest. Hoppy at 1st in the mouth, but mellows out with quite a bit of malt. Then you feel the hoppy dryness at the end. Not bad. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 20, 2008 Frothy copper pour. Herbal and distantly salty sharp aroma; chlorine water, doughy malt, brisk greenish spices, white crackers, and chives. Soft and somewhat plain, the gentle sparkle of spicing works nicely with the citrusy sweetness. Concentrated pine hop flavors tightly bind with this clove essence from the wheat to create a a crisp vegetal impression, though this never gets too aggressive. Citrus tones wash over in consistent sunshine; lighter moments of white stone fruits. Grassiness, musty and dry. Kellerbier dry. Mint, clove and herbal tea recurrences. Simple and refreshing. Medium body is prickly and mineral-sharp. More greenness toward the finish in bay leaf and basil, which is again somewhat sharp. The contrived sentiment of its rough bitterness is hard to escape, but in the end it isn’t as abrasive as it would seem. Totally passable; some intriguing moments.
