On tap pours clear amber with a thin white head. Has a light yeasty brandy like aroma. Has a light body with not a lot of carbonation. Taste is alcohol, candi sugar, sweetness, and dark fruits. Has a dry finish. Overall a nice brew.

Dark mahogany color beneath an off-white head. Lots of dark fruits and brown sugar in the aroma. More brown sugar flavors accompanied by prunes and light cardboard flavor. Finishes with a peppery spice. Thanks rudy

[1357-20080517] Bottle. Sweet Belgian yeast aroma has some heavy malt notes. Clear, dark ruby brown body with a long-lasting creamy light tan head. Sweet yeast flavour has more boozy earthy malt notes. Medium-full body. Nice, but it’s got a kick so you’d better watch out.

Thanks to RagallachMC for the bomber. Clear burgundy color with a medium head. Aroma of heavy yeast, toffee, dark, sweet fruit (figs and raisins) and a little bit of chocolate. No bananas, which I prefer. Medium-heavy body, mostly sweet taste.

Bottle (22oz) shared at ’Rudolf’s May 2008 Tasting’ -- courtesy of rudolf. Pours a very deep reddish-brown with an average size diminishing off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, nuts, dark fruit and sugar. Flavour of toasty malt, some sugary sweetness, spices and alcohol. Average bitter finish. Average bodied. Not really doing it for me.

2008-05-17. Dark ruby tinged brown bdoy with a smallish tan head. (3+) Sweetish aroma, malt, sugars. (6+) Sweet flavour, light bitterness, tangy note (but pleasantly so, when often that descriptor is not pleasant for me) to the finish that lingers. (6+) Average palate is a bit light for the style but passable. Simple but quaffable. At Rudolf’s, shared by Rudolf

Bottle, shared at the May 2008 tasting. Very dark brown, off-white head. Nose is caramel, alcohol, rochefort yeastiness, clove. Flavor is honey, burnt malt, dark plums & tobacco, yeast. Slightly acrid, overly bitter. But it sure smells nice.
