A stellar Belgian style Dubble that teases with clove and candy flavors. Just the right amount of hop balance and yet retains the strong malt flavors. This beerr only develops over time. Highly recommend!!! kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Rated 1/4/06: Extremely dark amber pour, light is barely visible when held next to the light. Fizzy tan head that dwindles, decent retention with minimal lacing. Aroma has a slight belgian familiarity of yeast and earthiness. Some faint aromas of dark fruits and licorice with some spices mixed in. Mild body, finish is a touch watery and off balance. Decent taste, flavors of sweet malts and spices such as clove and nutmeg appear. Good brew but seems underdeveloped. Great label though. Cletus (5055), Connecticut, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 29, 2006 consumed with vyvvy-pours dark brown with an off-white cinnamon head. noces if dark fruits, cinnamon, plums, apples and some american belgian funky notes. not really "brett-y" or anything like that, but some light funk in there. cinnamon, apples, brown sugar, woody (cedar-like) flavors. very nice and has aged well. definately complex and interesting. i woulder what it is like fresh. some smokey notes on the finish as well. very decent rendition of a dubbel. the age has shown some sourness, but that is not a bad thing here. the label is great! very nice and unique beer here. vyvvy (2043), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2006 Consumed with Beerdrenched. At the time of popping this open I was over seven hours into a beer night and my notes are still very legible. Pours hazy brown with a moderately sized tan head that had very good retension. The aroma is very authentic for an American interpretation. Lots of earthiness and sweetness. Taste starts with some caramel malt, but quickly turns to an earthy rich Belgium style malt. Very rich and malty. The finish has earthiness with some spicy hops - lots of smoothness from the malts. Some of the caramel on the beginning comes back. With this being sitting around a bit it has aged very nicely. Recommended.
