Sep 18, 2005 Bottle provided by BBB63 at Kuhnhenn’s in June. Opaque brown to tan in color. Decent off-white head. A touch soured?? in aroma. Flavor is slightly tart. Light to medium bodied. As part of a blind tasting I wouldn’t have guessed this a dubbel. Decent, perhaps a touch old.

Aug 28, 2005 thanks go to bbb63 at the kuhnhenn gathering on 6/10. pourd a hazy orange, to a cloudy amber with a off white head. arsoma fruits, yeast, malts and a tuoch of alcohol. falvor, yeastcomes out 1st, than the hops, anad dark fruits, a touch of floral and ginger.

Aug 2, 2005 Cortesy of BBB63. Pours dark murky mahogany/brown, with only a ring of bubbles. Aroma has some banana but some other fruits throwing it off. Flavor has a nice banana kick to it, with some residuel sugar. Rating discrepencies, maybe due to me getting the bottom of the bottle?

Jun 15, 2005 Bottle: Burnt orange/Dark brown mix, moderate sand colored head, foamy, settles somewhat quickly, spotty lacing. Yeasty nose, somewhat bready, slightly sweet, with a touch of dark pitted fruit. Fairly light flavored ale this is, a smidgen of dark fruity flavors, malty, slightly bready. Body and mouthfeel are fairly average. Slightly peppery in the finish, doughy, with other spices rounding it out. Not complex, but interesting enough. Thanks goes out to MAP for this rare treat!

Jun 12, 2005 Bottle from MAP shared with the shindig at Kuhnhenn: Hazy burnt orange and brownish highlights, minimal head or lace. The aroma has notes of some fruit, bready malts, dusty yeasts, very weak for a dubbel. The taste starts with a yeast character and a bit bitter. Additional undertones of apple, flowery hops, cardamom, ginger, and a touch of oak. The feel is refreshing enough, snappy on the backend. Okay but nothing special, not quite to style either.

Jun 11, 2005 Bottle: Courtesy of BBB63 at Kuhnhenn’s. Aroma is very light. I can only detect some fruit and some maltiness. Pours an dark orangish-brown with a small off-white head that quickly becomes a ring. Lots of dark fruits and raisin up front. Some caramel is barely noticeable with a light sourness in the finish. Apple hids in the background.

Jan 3, 2005 Pours a cloudy, greyish brown color with minimal head. Typical Belgium style aroma and flavor. Not my favorite style, but once it warms a bit it does have a rich sweet spicy flavor that was pleasant. I live about 5 miles from this brewery so I guess I should try some more of their beers.
