kujo9 (1044), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA Dec 13, 2004 On Tap @ Buckeye: Lasting white head on a hazy, fizzy golden body. Laces well. Bready & toasty malts, and a flowery, perfumey hop. Clovey, banana and raisiny grape aroma. Some sugary sweetness and corn aromas as well. Well balanced, a little on the sweet side though. Lightly bitter in the finish an especially the aftertaste w/ some toasty and cereal malt flavors and sugary sweetness. Some moderate plum fruitiness and a light alcohol flavor as well. Medium carbonation, full, smooth body, but well hidden alcohol. Pretty decent beer, but I still prefer the Dubbel. JasonG (637), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 31, 2003 I had this a while ago, so I'm going on memory. Crystal clear yellowish color, white fluffy head. Aroma was pure belgian, strong in the candi sugar. Flavor was good, but by the end of the snifter is was too sweet for me. Alcohol was pretty obvious throughout the flavor. MikeF (523), Cleveland, Ohio, USA May 13, 2003 One of the most solid triples out of the U.S. that I have sampled. Liquid gold. Drew (2377), Kent, Ohio, USA Mar 6, 2003 From cask at the brewpub 2/21/03. Deep gold, large fluffy head present til the end. First couple of sips were apricot and sugar. Then it settled in to total melon mania - honeydew and cantaloupe. The finish was full of spice and some hops - stuck to my tongue for a long time. (apparently the cask they took to the RAF didn't hold up as well as the one they kept at the pub) JoeM500 (1877), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Mar 6, 2003 Stinky. I couldn't put my finger on the aroma and my nose wanted no part of studying harder. Vineous, with fuzzy peach skin added to give it a peach wine flavor. Very evident 10%abv!!!
