Pipper (226), Ohio, USA Oct 26, 2009 Donated by Buckeye Brewing to ALS Beer Dinner Benefit. The label is different now than the picture provided and I think is improved. Pours a nice black brown with strong coffee brown head. Musty, malty, toasted and slight coffee yumminess in both aroma and flavor. Smooth over the palate but not coating, a little bit of bite from the bitter coffee aftertaste. aaaaaaaaaah (61), Warren, Michigan, USA Oct 14, 2009 On tap @ Beer engine. Average creamy light brown good lacing head. Dark black body. Smells like smokey beach wood. Initial flavor is smokey, musty and finishes with coffee finish. Sparky27 (1559), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Sep 13, 2009 On tap at The Beer Engine. Pours pitch black with a one finger tan head. The nose is roasted malt, ashy cocoa and light coffee. The taste is dark chocolate, ash, burnt malt and bitter coffee grounds in the finish. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Good stout. joshwilfong (769), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Aug 29, 2009 thick black appearance with tan head. moderate carbonation for style, wonderful roasty and sweet nose. some thickness to the moutfeel, but a lighter finish for the style. flavor has some bitterness initially followed by only mild malt sweetness, that could have added depth, some roastiness, but not overwhelming before a lot of floral hop flavor before a dry finish. a nice beer, a higher finisher gravity and some more sweetness and roasty flavors could have added some complexity and improved the beer GMUcrew7 (353), Mason, Ohio, USA Aug 21, 2009 22 oz bomber, the label is in black and white and says "Mammoth Stout" with Foreign Stout below the name, not sure if it is the same brew or not. Beautiful pour, dark black with a booming tan head that lasts and leaves behind nice lacing on my glass. Aroma of oatmeal, milk, coffee and semi-sweet chocolate. Nice bitter roasted coffee flavor. Good beer at a fair price. travita (1861), Frisco, Texas, USA Jul 14, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye.
