Black, opaque, huge tan head with a loose structure that collapses quickly, suggesting overcarbonation. Strong coffe and roasted malt aroma, notes of chocolate, and licorice also evident. Confirmation of the overcarbonation comes with the first mouthful, where the fizziness is just mcuh too prominent, taking away from what would otherwise be a pleasant full mouthfeel. Sweetness nicely balanced by peppery bitterness and a long dry finish. This really had a nice aroma and flavor, but was ruined by the overcarbonation. I would definitely liker to try another from a different batch. ogglethorp (890), Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 15, 2006 Bottle. Pours black, with a generous, thick, tan colored head, nice lacing. Aoma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malts. Flavor is choclate, molasses, coffee, roasted malt. Palate is full bodied, medium carbonation, bitter finish. BückDich (4857), McCall, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2006 Bottle: Black, THICK, tan head, just overcarbonated. Lots of lacing obviously. Nose of bright coffee, carbonation and roast chocolate. The flavor has a strong carbonation coming through that you can’t taste it, but it’s sweet and rich with lots of umami and dark sweet molasses. Finishes nice. IndianaRed (1562), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 9, 2006 Bottle Poures a dark deep black witha large thick tan head. Lots of thick sturdy lacing. Aroma is nice and dark, sweet roasted malts, licorice, moilassas. Flavor is similar but with plenty of complimentary bittering as well. These foreign stouts are what I like in a fairly sweet stout. Smooth slick but a bit thin feel.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Good but not quite great. Nice, lighty roasted malt flavor lacking depth. The oatmeal is noticeable and there is a hint of hops. There are better stouts out there, but this one is worth a try. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA

Appears black with a small tan head that slowly fades into a small cap and collar.
Smell is of an overkill of chalky chocolate, cocoa, mild coffee, and smoked peat.
Taste is slightly better then the ok aromas.
Mouthfeel is smokey, bitter, and dry like some old coffee that’s been in the pot for too long. hopdog (5617), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 22oz bottle acquired in trade with OhioDad (thanks!). Poured a dark black color with a huge sized light brown head. Aromas of smoke, light dark fruits, light chocolate, and roast. Tastes of smoke, roast, and some caramel. Lively and fizzy body agreeing with the initial pour that this one is way too over carbonated. TomDecapolis (3218), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
