Near black in colour with a thin tan head, light lacing. The aroma is fairly sweet, some milk chocolate, toffee, roasted coffee, burnt malts with some dark fruits. The flavour is quite roasty, mildly sweet, good amount of roasted coffee, some dark chocolate with just a bit of alcohol. Roasty mouthfeel, medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, roasty with some milk chocolate sweetness.

Very nice. Good roast and an excellent mouthfeel. Quite enjoyable.

650ml bottle obtained in a trade with miketd, thanks Mike.

Bottle shared by Dak. Black and opaque with tight tan head. Metallic aroma is fully of lead. The flavors are similarly lead-laden and paltry. Unfortunately, not liking it.

Somewhat dull and flat. Very dark brown colour. There’s sort of a burnt toffee note to this, but also some inappropriate phenols. It’s extra roasty and astringent with a hint of soy sauce. It’s big, but has little going for it. No real complexity, and the flavours and aromas do not correspond with any foreign stout I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Black pour with a small tan head. Aroma is roasty as hell with some smoke, chocolate and an odd chemical note. Flavor is very thin, watery and way over roasted. This beer fails to come together. Overrated by far.

In short: A dry and very roasted stout with a strong cacao presence and a good hopping. Nothing original but this is highly drinkable.
How: Bottle 22oz. Purchase when I visited the brewery, consumed when 8 months of age
The look: Almost black body topped by a large tan head
In long: Nose is lightly roasted with cacao notes and some locker room sweat (I get that sometimes from certain hops). The beer feels rather dry, almost chalky. Not fruity notes whatsoever. Short but sharp hops bitterness. The beer was maybe a little too roasted and chalky for its own good, like trying to swallow cacao powder, it felt like it was getting stuck in my throat. However the floury cacao flavour was rather pleasant and the bitter finish was nice. Strong hops presence that soften-up the beer with a mild juicy bitterness. Medium body with an expansive carbonation. Pleasant straightforward brew that does the basic things very well, a very good example of Keep It Simple Stupid. Cleveland area people are lucky to have that little brewery/brewpub in their backyard. A backyard in serious need of a groundkeeper I must add.

Slightly let down with this one. Fairly watery and one dimensional. Aroma is great: lots of oat, chocolate, and roasted barley, however, not much of it comes through in the flavor. Just way too thin. No oatmeal or chocolate. Drinkable and OK, but nothing special.

Bottle from miketd awhile back - thanks! Dark brown color with a big roasty, somewhat smoky nose. Flavor is big with lots of roasted malt, light coffee, and dark/bittersweet chocolate. Pretty good foreign stout.

A bit of a chocolate phosphate. Hints of hops on the back end. Thin mouthfeel. Some smoke.
