Roasty aromas off this dark dark beer with a decent tan head. Sweetness is the beginning flavor with a slightly dry and bitter finish. not bad at all. miketd (685), Cleveland, Ohio, USA

This was an excellent stout, it had a nice roasted/chocolate taste but not too roasty or bitter. The oatmeal in the grain bill really gives this a smooth taste and excellent mouth feel-I Highly recommend this one for St. Patrick’s day quaffing.

Very well done, nothing at all missing from the aroma. The wicked cascade resolves into a rocky frothy brown head the color of a cola Icee/Slushy. The head is just rediculous, could easily overflow from a yard glass. No lace, but fully lasting. Black with black highlights. Wow! Been a long time since I’ve had an exceptional stout. Can’t remember the last one that was this good. Very complex flavor, malty, spicy, & tangy. Decent lingering finish of coffee. The medium body is creamy and fizzy. Grossly underrated IMO; this one really caught me by surprise. More people need to sample this heavyweight offering - what a shame. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 16, 2007 Draught: Pours black, tan head. Chocolate and roasted malts dominate. The oats come through bigtime with maybe some lactose as well, no hops. Thin mouthfeel could’ve used more body, I would not call this a foreign stout, this was a straight oatmeal stout. Not bad but not great.
